How to: Remove the SAX buttons
Which functions can be remapped to the paddles and sax buttons?
Your controller comes with three pre-set paddle profile configurations (see image below) to get you started. Simply press the Profile Button on the front of the controller to select the one you want.
Please note: If iCUE is running, mappings in the software will be prioritized over the out-of-the-box mappings listed below. To use the out-of-the-box mappings, quit iCUE.
How to: Create Profile (remap paddles with iCUE)
The difference between Mappings and Hardware Mappings comes down to if you are using iCUE or not. Using Mappings with iCUE open will provide additional options not available on Hardware Mappings.
- Start by opening iCUE and navigating to the Hardware Mappings section.
- From there, choose if you want to use preset mappings or create your own custom mapping.
- To create a custom, choose the Custom tab and click the yellow ‘+’.
- Next, select the type of mapping you want.
- Using the controller image, select the button you wish to remap.
- Lastly, select the specific function that you want to assign to your selected button.
- You can confirm the remapping was successful via the centered image.
Your new mappings are now ready to use in-game.
How to: Remap paddles and SAX buttons without iCUE (hardware mapping)
The difference between Mappings and Hardware Mappings comes down to if you are using iCUE or not. If you don’t want iCUE running in the background when gaming, you will be forced to use hardware mappings.
Here is how to change and remap your Envision’s three on-board profiles, without needing to use iCUE.
- Locate the profile button on the front of the controller beneath the start button.
- Press the profile button until you see the color profile you want to change.
- Next, press and hold the Profile button until it starts to blink. Blinking means the controller is now in remapping mode.
- To remap your paddles and SAX buttons, press the paddle or SAX button you want to change at the same time that you press the button you want to map to it. Your RGB lighting strip will turn white and the controller will vibrate if it is successful.
- After you’re done, simply press the profile button again, the light will stop blinking, and you are good to go.
Your new hardware mappings are now ready to use in-game when iCUE is not running.
How to: Disable a paddle or a SAX button
Here is how to blank your paddles or SAX buttons so that they do no actions when pressed:
- Just like you would normally remap a profile, press the profile button until you see the color profile you want to change.
- Next, press and hold the Profile button until it starts to blink. Blinking means the controller is now in remapping mode.
- Next, press the paddle or SAX button that you want to blank at the same time as the Menu button. The RGB lighting strip turning white and the controller vibrating will tell you it has been successful.
- Repeat this for however many paddles or SAX buttons you want to disable and then press the profile button again to leave remapping mode.
How to: Remove the paddles
You can remove the paddles by simply putting the provided removal tool into the notch, next to the paddle.
Please note: Only the inner paddles can be removed.
How to: Remove the SAX buttons
To remove the SAX buttons, simply remove the faceplate and replace the SAX buttons with the included blank-out pieces, then replace the faceplate.
Which functions can be remapped to the paddles and SAX buttons?
The SAX buttons and paddles can be mapped to your choice of RB/LB, RT/LT, R3/L3, the entire D-Pad, or any of the four Action Buttons.
