A number of reasons can cause any controller to randomly shut off. Please see below for troubleshooting tips.
If you are playing with a SCUF Vantage Wireless & Wired model in Wireless mode (Bluetooth), please check that your controller is correctly paired and that the controller battery is charged.
If you are playing with a SCUF Vantage Wired model or a Wireless & Wired model in Wired mode (USB):
Step 1: Please check that you are using the provided High Speed Braided Micro-USB Cable.
Step 2: Please check that the cable is correctly connected to your controller’s Micro-USB port and a USB-A port on your PlayStation® 4 system.
Step 3: Inspect the cable for any damage.
If the problem persists, please try to hard reset your controller. To hard reset your controller:
Step 1: Remove the faceplate by lifting it from the controller chassis using the two finger notches on each side of the handles.
Step 2: Using the provided 0.9mm SCUF Key, press the reset button located on the right inside of the inner faceplate (beneath the circle button).
Step 3: Put the faceplate back on the controller and push to secure. You will hear the magnets “click” into place.
