Connect to console (Xbox Series X|S)
For a wired or wireless connection, follow the steps below:
- Connect the USB-C end of your cable to your controller and the USB-end to any available USB port on your console.
- Press the Xbox button and your controller will be paired with the console, including wirelessly.
Connect to PC (Windows 10+)
Wired connection:
- Connect the USB-C end of your cable to your controller and the USB-end to any available USB port on your console.
- Press the Xbox button and your controller will be paired with the console, including wirelessly.
For a wireless connection (Bluetooth), your PC will need to be equipped with Bluetooth connectivity or you will need a compatible Bluetooth dongle connected to your PC. Then do the following:
- Start by going into “Settings” > “Bluetooth & other devices” and turning Bluetooth on.
- Select "Add Bluetooth or other device".
- Next select "Bluetooth" from the Add a device menu.
- Press the Xbox button to power on your Instinct.
- Next, hold down the Sync Button on your Instinct controller until the Xbox Button starts blinking (meaning it is searching for devices to connect to).
- Look at your “Add a device” list, and “Xbox Wireless Controller” will appear.
- Select it, and once it connects the Xbox button will turn solid.
Connect SCUF Instinct to Xbox Game Pass?
Game Pass will auto-detect your controller once properly paired.

Connect to Mac (OS ?)?
- Navigate to your Bluetooth device settings menu and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Press and hold the Sync button (indicated with 3 curved lines) on your controller for a few seconds until the Xbox Button begins blinking. Instinct will be identified as "Xbox Wireless Controller" in your system's Bluetooth Devices list.
- Select "Connect" in your system's Bluetooth Devices list to connect your Instinct controller. Your controller will sync within a few moments and the Xbox button will become solid.
- Your controller will be listed as a paired device within the Bluetooth Device list on your system's menu bar if "Show Bluetooth in menu bar" is selected.
Connect to Android?
For a wired connection:
- Connect the USB-C end of your cable to your controller and the USB-end to any available USB port on your console.
- Press the Xbox button and your controller will be paired to your device.
For a wireless connection (Bluetooth), your Android Device will need to be equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, or you will need a compatible Bluetooth dongle connected to your device. Then do the following:
- Start by going into “Settings” > “Bluetooth & other devices” and turning Bluetooth on.
- Select "Add Bluetooth or other device".
- Next select "Bluetooth" from the Add a device menu.
- Press the Xbox button to power on your Instinct.
- Next, hold down the Sync Button on your Instinct controller until the Xbox Button starts blinking (meaning it is searching for devices to connect to).
- Look at your “Add a device” list, and “Xbox Wireless Controller” will appear.
- Select it, and once it connects, the Xbox button will turn solid.
Connect to (iPhone & iPad)
Compatibility:
iOS 13 or later
iPadOS 13 or later
To pair your controller:
- Start by going into “Settings” > “Bluetooth” and turning Bluetooth on. Keep this screen open to be able to see devices.
- Press the Sync Button on the top of the controller until the Xbox button starts blinking (meaning it is searching for devices to connect to).
- Look at your “My Devices” list, and “Xbox Wireless Controller” will appear.
- Select it, and once it connects the Xbox Button light will turn solid.
Note: Each time you change devices, you must pair the controller with the new device.
Connect to Apple TV (tvOS 13+)
Compatibility:
tvOS 13 or later
To pair your controller:
- Start by going into “Settings” > “Remotes and Devices” > “Bluetooth” to turn Bluetooth on. Keep this screen open to be able to see devices.
- Press the Sync Button on the top of the controller until the Xbox button starts blinking (meaning it is searching for devices to connect to).
- Look at your “Other Devices” list, and “Xbox Wireless Controller” will appear.
- Select it, and once it connects, the light will turn solid.
Note: You will need to re-sync your controller to your console after connecting to Apple TV if you prefer to play on console.
