Request increased HID modularity (Software/Driver level)
I just picked up a Instinct Pro, which I'm operating on PC.
I'm very happy with the overall design and features, and while I do appreciate the integrated assignment feature of the paddles, suffice it to say there will be a strong demand for an external mapping module, ideally, modularity associated with XINPUT standards.
While the assignment is pretty obviously intended to operate as a duplicate hardware level input, this is obviously really limited. While a software-side (third party, say in game or whatever) may include its own remapping options for the standard driver, meaning there's no extra addressing for additional input required, much less available.
So, in summary, the community as a whole would greatly benefit from additional mapping abilities outside of the hardware 'macros', if you can even call them that. Even if a basic workaround is done (like adding a stream for any other virtual HID bools, like a keyboard key, hard coded, that's workable with almost anything that has flexible assignments), that'd fill the void, at least as a starting point.
As someone well versed in multiple engineering fields, professionally, including communications protocol, sensor/data acquisition systems design and engineering, I recognize this is a bit of a challenge, especially coming from the original intended outcome of the project, very likely being (my best guess anyway) hard-focused on console end users. A unique HID driver might work out well, substitutions are possible too.
Really looking forward to this... Not ot mention, the company would have a huge opportunity to increase market share with this. Great product, all around, and I've only been fiddling with it for a few hours.
